Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking a reliable Desktop Technician to provide on-site IT support for Operations facilities. This hands-on role focuses on end-user computing, printers, networking equipment, and operational technology, following established procedures and SLAs.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of hands-on IT experience, strong troubleshooting, and solid communication skills. On-call rotations and site shift schedules are required to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Image, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops and desktop systems.
• Provide technical support for Windows 11 and Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and application-related issues.
• Support user onboarding and workstation setup activities.
• Diagnose and resolve printer issues, including network-connected printers.
• Perform basic networking troubleshooting, including connectivity and cabling issues.
• Respond to equipment failures and restore service following documented SOPs.
• Assist with asset management and equipment lifecycle activities.
• Work assigned support tickets and service requests within SLA requirements.
• Execute Change Management (CM) activities according to established procedures.
• Respond to emergent technical events impacting site operations.
• Escalate complex issues when resolution steps are unclear or require higher-level intervention.

This role is hands-on and requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to participate in on-call rotations and site shift schedules.

Key Responsibilities

End User Support

• Image, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops and desktop systems
• Provide technical support for Windows 11 and Linux environments
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and application-related issues
• Support user onboarding and workstation setup activities

Hardware & Infrastructure Support

• Diagnose and resolve printer issues, including network-connected printers
• Perform basic networking troubleshooting, including connectivity and cabling issues
