Job summary

P&E Constructors, LLC is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to deliver end‑user IT support across desktops, laptops, printers, and devices. This on‑site role requires troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues while maintaining high user satisfaction.

You’ll work with Windows and macOS, manage accounts, and support onboarding/offboarding, ensuring security policies are followed. Local candidates near Port Washington, WI are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a desktop or technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems; experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and operating system issues (Windows and/or macOS).
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, applications, and operating systems.
  • Respond to service requests and incidents via ticketing systems, phone, email, and in person.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams when necessary.
  • Support user account management (password resets, access permissions, MFA).
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including equipment setup and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and IT procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Provide basic network troubleshooting (Wi‑Fi, VPN, LAN).
  • Support audio/visual equipment for meetings and presentations.

This position requires 100% travel and project-site presence based on business needs. Candidates local to the Port Washington, WI area are preferred. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus due to workforce communication needs.

Project assignments generally last 10 to 17 months, depending on project duration and operational requirements.

Position Overview

  • The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Work at elevated heights and comply with fall protection and safety requirements
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Work in environments with exposure to noise, dust, temperature extremes, and other construction-related conditions
  • Interpret technical drawings and visualize three-dimensional concepts when needed
  • Maintain sufficient vision, hearing, coordination, and awareness to safely perform job duties
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including up to 12 hours, in outdoor construction environments and varying weather conditions
