Job description

Desktop Support Specialist

Canopy, Draper, UT

About Us

Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS company in Draper, Utah building simple, powerful software for accounting firms. We're on a mission to help accountants build an autonomous firm — giving them back the time and tools they need to focus on what matters most: their clients.

We believe the accounting industry deserves world-class software, and we're building exactly that. Our Practice Management Suite is purpose-built for firms that want to work smarter, grow faster, and deliver more value to the people they serve. We place a strong emphasis on delighting our customers, spotting and solving problems, and being good people along the way.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Desktop Support Specialist to ensure our onsite technology and collaborative spaces are seamless, functional, and ready for high-stakes work. At Canopy, our IT team does more than just reset passwords; they are the architects of our physical and digital workspace. From mastering the macOS ecosystem to engineering the perfect conference room setup, you will be the go-to expert for all things hardware and software. We love technicians who are proactive, handy with a toolkit, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. If you enjoy a mix of deep technical troubleshooting and active, hands-on physical projects, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a hybrid position in Draper, Utah (M, W, F in-office).

What You’ll Do
  • Ticket Management: Rapidly resolve incoming support requests via our ticketing system, balancing immediate “break-fix” needs with long-term projects.
  • Physical Infrastructure: Lead onsite “build” projects, including mounting TVs, speakers, and projectors, as well as running/terminating cables through ceilings and conduits.
  • Provision, deploy, and manage Mac hardware through JAMF Pro and Apple Business Manager. Inventory all systems using Snipe-IT.
  • Google Workspace Administration: Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within the Google Workspace Admin Console.
  • Lead the technical side of new employee onboarding, including account setup, software provisioning, hardware configuration, and a smooth first-day experience.
What We’re Looking For
  • 1–3 years of experience in desktop support, or IT helpdesk
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders safely, work in tight spaces (under desks/server closets) and above ceiling cable runs
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills – able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to finish the things that really matter without being sidetracked.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, and Ubiquiti
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy for end users
