Job Description

We are seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team. This role involves providing technical support and maintaining IT systems across various locations within Baltimore County. The position requires onsite presence with travel between different locations.

Location: Onsite, Baltimore County, Maryland

What You'll Do:

  • Communicate effectively with administrators, staff, students, and vendors

  • Install and support new devices and software, including computers, tablets, projectors, and more

  • Coordinate and perform diagnostic repair procedures for student and teacher laptops

  • Install and configure operating systems and applications

  • Conduct routine diagnostics and maintenance on multiple operating systems

  • Test new releases for supported systems

  • Perform network support and troubleshooting duties

  • Provide training and support to teachers, staff, and students on technology equipment and software

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues

  • Assist teachers with resolving device-related problems

  • Coordinate with vendors as necessary

  • Participate in team projects of varying sizes

  • Record activities in the work order system

  • Update and create internal system documentation

What You'll Need:

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in a related technology area

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining device software

  • Knowledge of Windows and Apple hardware and software platforms

  • Ability to perform technical tasks with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions

  • Valid driver's license and own transportation (must be maintained throughout employment)

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb a ladder

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA, A+ certification, HP Certification, or other hardware vendor-specific certifications

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
