Job Skill Cluster: Workplace Support Engineer – EUC Deployment and Management

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Maintenance of end‑user computing equipment and peripheral equipment at deputed locations.
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and break‑fix support following the priority and service levels.
  • Continued monitoring of the Service Management tool for new incidents and service requests.
  • Escalate incidents to the appropriate group or person if the issue should be handled by another team.
  • Incident troubleshooting and repair of workstations and peripherals to proper operation.
  • Document the details of incident resolution.
  • Repair and replace failed components.
  • Replace non‑operating equipment with equipment from operating stock.
  • Update the client asset management system to indicate any changes in equipment status.
  • Provide a monthly review of inventory levels.
  • Desktop install, move, add, change, and deletion (IMACD).
  • Installation of workstations, network printers, peripherals, including network patch cable verification, installation, and replacement.
  • Manage support for removable approved external devices.
  • Provide smart‑hand support for server racking, cabling, hard reboots at staffed locations.
  • Installation verification, troubleshooting of Wi‑Fi access points with remote engineers.
  • Microsoft Office productivity tools support.
  • Conference‑room audio, video, Wi‑Fi, and teleconference support.
  • Maintain spare equipment and parts inventory.
  • Printer and multifunction copier support.
  • Provide basic instructions on the use of IT equipment and software.
  • Undertake repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Break‑fix support for all end‑user computing devices: laptops, desktops, peripherals, desk phones, video and audio conference devices.
  • Install, remove and support for desktop OS or any client‑approved software.
  • Manage desktop computing hardware and software inventory records.
  • Maintain spare pools at staffed locations.
  • On‑site hands‑and‑feet support for IT infrastructure, network, storage and compute.
  • Escalate product‑related issues and hardware/software bugs to client or third‑party provider as appropriate.
  • Trigger disposal process of assets; actual disposal will be carried out by client.
  • Physically destroy drives only if they cannot be wiped electronically.
  • Installs, moves, adds and changes IMAC: confirm requirements, scope, acquire approval, assign to appropriate team, confirm schedule, and verify completion.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience: 7 years of related work experience.
  • Sound knowledge of operating‑system troubleshooting.
  • Sound knowledge of building machines for new joiners.
  • Installing, upgrading and migrating to the latest Windows version.
  • Deploying Windows operating systems in large enterprises.
  • Configuring hardware and applications.
  • Configuring network connectivity; monitoring and maintaining systems that run Windows operating systems.
  • Preferred certifications: MCSA Windows, MCSE Desktop Infrastructure.
