Job summary

Keystone Engineering Inc. in Geismar, LA is seeking an experienced Piping Designer for a long-term, full-time onsite role within a Capital Projects Team.

You will generate P&IDs, piping plans, isometrics, and BOMs while collaborating with engineers and operations to meet design goals. The ideal candidate has an AS in Drafting Technology, 3–10 years of mechanical/piping drafting, proficiency with AutoCAD and PDF editing, and familiarity with 3D design tools.

Qualifications

• AS Degree from accredited Technical College or University in Drafting Technology.
• 3–10 years of design/drafting experience within the mechanical/piping discipline.
• Hands-on skills using AutoCAD and PDF Editing software.
• Autodesk 3D Design Suite experience helpful.
• Understand construction terminology and piping systems.
• TWIC Card needed or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Design/drafter for a long-term assignment at a client facility in the Geismar, LA area.
• Work full-time onsite within a Capital Projects Team.
• Participate in scope review meetings with engineers, operations, and maintenance staff to determine design package goals and deliverables.
• Generate initial scoping documents to confirm tie-points, routing, and piping specifications & standards needed for the installation.
• Produce detailed design packages including P&ID's, plans, sections, details, and isometrics using AutoCAD.
• Generate Bill of Materials per dimensions, specifications, and quantities needed for procurement.
• Collaborate with project team members on constructability, project schedule, and installation details to insure successful execution of deliverables.
• Projects may entail performing design with civil/structural scope.
• Having background with processing laser scans and 3-D modeling helpful.
• Provide comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design.
• Take ownership of all deliverables and review drawings for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
• Maintain orderly and organized project files.
• Observe all client standards and safety protocols.

Essential Functions:

• Seeking a competent design/drafter for a long-term assignment at a client facility in the Geismar, LA area.
