Job summary

Perkins & Will's Boston studio is seeking a Designer III to contribute advanced design knowledge and lead design efforts within a collaborative, research-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of relevant design experience at architectural studio.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline.
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire.
  • Preparing for ARE and active involvement in AXP.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative design ideas and solutions as part of the design team.
  • Coordinate drawings for schematic design through construction documents.
  • Analyze product research and identify material selections.
  • Prepare client and non-client design presentation materials.
  • Review work for accuracy and code compliance per the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Coordinate with partners and consultants.
  • Participate in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
  • Support growth of others on the team.

Job description

Come join our Boston studio as a Designer III. We hold fast to our values—diversity, collaboration, and innovation—and we’re only half-joking when we tell people to run until apprehended, because we see our studio less like an office and more like a test lab.

As a Designer III, you will demonstrate advanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.

You will be:

  • Developing creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team.
  • Coordinating drawings for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Analyzing product research and identifies material selections.
  • Taking an active role in crafting client and non-client design presentation sand prepares corresponding materials.
  • Implementing a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
  • Reviewing work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Supporting growth of others.
  • Expressing curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
  • Taking increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities.
  • Participating in design reviews, charettes and pin-ups.
  • Keeping open and proactive communication with all and is inspiring within team and designated team leader.
  • Coordinating effectively with partners and consultants.

Salary Range Information
