Job summary

McAdams in Orlando, FL seeks a Designer II to support the team with accurate plans in a fast-paced environment. You may lead design tasks on some projects and coordinate with others to ensure high-quality plan production.

Responsibilities include drafting per McAdams standards, creating sheet packages, and developing site layouts, utilities, grading, and 3D surface models using Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• EI on path to PE preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn, apply, and uphold McAdams' CAD and design standards for plan production.
• Set up sheet packages for construction drawings and maintain documentation.
• Compile plan sheets with notes, sequences, and technical specs.
• Collaborate on conceptual designs and develop detailed site layouts.
• Contribute to preliminary and final utility layouts including water and sewer.
• Create preliminary and final grading plans and 3D surface models.
• Use Civil 3D to create alignments, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks.
• Support storm drainage and erosion control design per requirements.
• Coordinate tasks with internal project teams for integrated delivery.
• Address comments from regulatory agencies and plan forward with PM.
