Qualifications

Safdie Architects is seeking a Designer II with 5-10 years of experience with exceptional design, communication, and interpersonal skills to join our design practice. This is a full-time, in-studio position.

Key responsibilities include:

The Designer II will be involved on projects from concept through completion under the direction of the project’s management team, and shall be responsible for the completion of project assignments. The Designer II must be able to independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs, and manage others with less experience. In addition to an aptitude for design and problem solving, candidates must be highly motivated and have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. The office supports the pursuit of licensure.

Prerequisites:

• Minimum five years of professional experience
• Experience in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite and rendering software (Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray) required
• Demonstrated skills in the use of advanced digital design software and techniques, rapid-prototyping, etc.
• Working knowledge of Revit and experience with BIM required
• Experience in the production of concept, schematic design, and design development documents preferred
• Experience in leading teams of junior staff preferred
• Demonstrated design sensibility
• Excellent visual and verbal communication skills

Salary range: $80,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
