Gannett Fleming is looking for a Designer to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team in Houston or Fort Worth, TX. The role involves working on roadway and drainage designs as part of a collaborative team. Candidates should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering and ideally an EIT license in Texas.

What You Will Do

GFT Infrastructure is seeking a Designer to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team in Houston or Fort Worth, TX. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our Texas offices.

Responsibilities

Seeking an H&H Designer with 0 to 3 years of experience for our Fort Worth or Houston office. This position will assist in the planning, design, and production of H&H, land development and transportation projects, working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who has experience in roadway, drainage design, and utility design.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Assisting in the development of drainage impact studies
• Helping to prepare drainage construction plans and specifications
• Compiling watershed drainage studies, master plans and engineering reports
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members and consultants
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

Education & Experience

• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• EIT license in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in 6 months
• 0-8 years of experience in H & H
• Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Self‑motivated and collaborate well with others
• Good oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of H&H software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM and ArcGIS. (Infoworks ICM knowledge is a plus)
• PE in the State of Texas

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
