Job summary

GFT in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Designer to join the Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team. The role follows a hybrid work model with regular attendance at our Texas offices. You will assist in planning, design, and production of H&H, land development, and transportation projects under a PE supervision.

Ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering, an EIT in Texas or able to obtain within 6 months, and 0–4 years of H&H experience.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering and Texas EIT eligibility or licensure within 6 months.
  • 0–4 years of H&H experience or related field experience.
  • Strong MS Office proficiency and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop drainage impact studies as part of project tasks.
  • Prepare drainage construction plans and associated specifications.
  • Compile watershed drainage studies, master plans and engineering reports.
  • Assist in preparing permit applications and regulatory documents.
  • Coordinate with team members and consultants on project deliverables.
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

What You Will Do

GFT Infrastructure is seeking a Designer to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team in Fort Worth, TX! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our Texas offices.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

Seeking an H&H Designer with 0 to 3 years of experience for our Fort Worth or Houston office. This position will assist in the planning, design, and production of H&H, land development and transportation projects, working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has experience in roadway, drainage design, and utility design.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Assisting in the development of drainage impact studies
  • Helping to prepare drainage construction plans and specifications
  • Compiling watershed drainage studies, master plans and engineering reports
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
  • Coordinate with other team members and consultants
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
Education | Experience:
What You Will Bring To Our Firm
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • EIT license in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in 6 months
  • 0-4 years of experience in H & H
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Self-motivated and collaborate well with others
  • Good oral and written communication skills
What We Prefer You Bring
  • Knowledge of H&H software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM and ArcGIS. (Infoworks ICM knowledge is a plus)
  • PE in the State of Texas
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
