AMERICAN, based in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a Designer Drafter to create 3D models and production drawings for components, assemblies, and tooling. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and other units to deliver accurate design deliverables and support proof-of-design files.
The role requires proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent), keen attention to detail, and the ability to read complex project specifications.
The Designer Drafter works with AMERICAN Innovation, AMERICAN Valve & Hydrant (AVH), Waterous, and other Business Unit Partners as needed to support product manufacturing. The role also assists with collecting and organizing data for proof of design files.
In addition, the Designer Drafter develops and creates 3D models and related drawings for component castings, component machining, product assemblies, illustrations, and submittals. These materials support Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and other areas across the organization as needed.
