Job summary

Gap Inc. is seeking a design-focused product designer to partner with cross-functional teams and ensure the product style, fit, and quality deliver value for customers. You will manage the design process from market research and conception through to product design and final styling for your assigned category.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment.
• Elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color; translate trends to customer and brand.
• Thorough knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim.
• Strong computer skills in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Research global markets to identify seasonal trends and inspiration.
• Develop concepts and sketches for product line and present to leadership.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with Merchandising, Production, GIS, Visual Merchandising and Marketing to ensure seamless execution.
• Influence strategy for product area and ensure business and customer needs are met.
• Create tech packs with Production and Tech Design; communicate fit and design vision.
• Build cross functional partnerships and identify sketch callouts for fit and aesthetic.
• Oversee fabric and trim selection.
