Job summary

Hunter Engineering is seeking a skilled Designer/CAD Technician to produce high-quality civil engineering and surveying plans. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and develop technical expertise in site design and plan production.

You will prepare civil engineering plans, create survey plats, develop construction details, process field survey data, and coordinate with engineers and surveyors throughout the design process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree or technical certification in CAD/Drafting preferred.
• 3+ years of CAD production experience, preferably in civil engineering or surveying.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering and surveying plan sets.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Create survey plats, exhibits, and legal descriptions
• Develop construction details and standard sheets
• Process field survey data and prepare base mapping
• Perform design calculations, earthwork calculations, and quantity takeoffs
• Coordinate with engineers and surveyors throughout design process
• Incorporate redline markups and address review comments
• Maintain drawing standards and template libraries
• Assist with 3D modeling and visualization
• Perform quality control checks on drawings

• Familiarity with GIS software
• Knowledge of local agency CAD standards and requirements

• Experience with utility coordination and plan preparation
