Job summary

Hunter Engineering is seeking a skilled Designer/CAD Technician to produce high-quality civil engineering and surveying plans and to develop technical expertise in site design. The role offers opportunities to work on diverse projects and grow technical skills in plan production.

Responsibilities include preparing grading, drainage, utility and paving plans, creating survey plats and legal descriptions, and assisting with 3D modeling and visualization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years CAD production experience, preferably in civil engineering or surveying.
• High school diploma required; Associate's degree or technical certification in CAD/Drafting preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering plans including grading, drainage, utility, and paving plans.
• Create survey plats, exhibits, and legal descriptions.
• Develop construction details and standard sheets.
• Process field survey data and prepare base mapping.
• Perform design calculations, earthwork calculations, and quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate with engineers and surveyors throughout design process.
• Incorporate redline markups and address review comments.
• Maintain drawing standards and template libraries.
• Assist with 3D modeling and visualization.
• Perform quality control checks on drawings.
