Job summary

BBA Consultants in Lakewood, CO is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Structural Designer / 3D Modeler to join our Lakewood office for heavy industrial and mining projects.

The role focuses on structural Revit modeling, drafting quality management, and maintaining drafting standards within a multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will mentor junior staff and support field and design-phase activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Structural Engineering Technology from a recognized institution.
• 5+ years of experience in structural drafting and 3D modeling using Revit.
• Extensive experience on heavy industrial projects; strong ability to interpret complex multi-disciplinary design drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; in-depth knowledge of drafting standards and model coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce 3D structural models and construction drawings for concrete and steel structures using Revit.
• Oversee and enforce drafting standards, modeling best practices, and quality control procedures across structural deliverables.
• Coordinate and integrate structural models with civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and process disciplines.
• Perform model coordination, clash detection, and data validation to ensure accuracy and constructability.
• Review and verify drawings and models for compliance with project requirements, internal standards, and client expectations.

BBA is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Structural Designer / 3D Modeler to join our Lakewood office and support large-scale heavy industrial and mining projects. This role is a key technical and coordination position responsible for structural Revit modeling, drafting quality management, and the oversight of drafting standards within a multi-disciplinary project environment. The successful candidate will act as a technical reference for structural modeling, ensure model integrity and consistency across disciplines, and contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting processes, tools, and standards.

• Lead and produce 3D structural models and construction drawings for concrete and steel structures using Revit
• Oversee and enforce drafting standards, modeling best practices, and quality control procedures across structural deliverables
• Coordinate and integrate structural models with civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and process disciplines
• Perform model coordination, clash detection, and data validation to ensure accuracy and constructability
• Review and verify drawings and models for compliance with project requirements, internal standards, and client expectations
• Support quality management by identifying gaps, implementing improvements, and maintaining consistent documentation practices
• Convert and manage models across multiple CAD platforms (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Develop construction quantities, support cost estimates, and assist with design-phase budgeting
• Conduct and coordinate detailed design work in collaboration with structural engineers
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to junior designers and drafting staff
• Participate in field visits, surveys, and construction support activities as required
• Contribute to business development efforts through client interaction and technical support

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in structural drafting and 3D modeling using Revit
• Extensive experience on heavy industrial projectsStrong capability in interpreting complex, multi-disciplinary design drawing
• Consulting engineering experience preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of drafting standards, model coordination, and quality assurance processes
• Working knowledge of health, safety, and hazardous material regulations relevant to industrial projects
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and well-organized design and model files
