Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an entry-level CAMS Designer 1 to create 2D/3D designs used in manufacturing customer-specific units. You will use Creo Parametric and proprietary software to apply Boolean logic and configure designs, review work for accuracy, and support larger projects with a technical team.

You will interpret drawings, draft documentation, and ensure standards are followed while developing your CAD skills. Travel may be required occasionally to support products or training.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting principles.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Creo Parametric.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Exposure to Boolean logic, rules-based modeling, or programming concepts.
  • Computer science coursework or programming experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to deliver quality solutions.
  • Continue building technical knowledge through training and development opportunities.
  • Travel occasionally, as needed, to support products or training.

What’s in it for you:

The CAMS Designer 1 is an entry-level design role responsible for creating 2D and 3D designs used in manufacturing customer-specific units.
