Job summary

Business of Home is seeking a Designer to provide design, project management, and coordination support through all phases of projects. You will share responsibility for project success, delivering client value, and upholding the company ethos and standards in and out of the office.

You will work across multiple design projects, manage work streams end-to-end, and develop concepts, mood boards, and material palettes to communicate design intent.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering design across schematic to construction documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with design team and vendors.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively across multiple design projects through all design phases.
• Manage specific work streams end-to-end within each project.
• Develop design concepts, reference images, mood boards, and material palettes to communicate design intent.
• Develop drawing and specification packages, and produce documentation as needed in schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
• Coordinate with design team to produce plans, elevations, and details to ensure design intent is reflected in documentation packages.
• Create and manage furniture plans, elevations, and details in AutoCAD.
• Assist with FF&E procurement, scheduling, and tracking.
• Participate in project coordination, construction administration, site visits, and quality control during construction.

The Designer’s primary responsibility is to provide design, project management, and coordination support through all phases of projects. The Designer shares responsibility for the overall success of projects, delivery of value to our clients, and promoting the company ethos and standards both in and out of the office.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively across multiple design projects through all design phases.
• Manage specific work streams end-to-end within each project.
• Develop design concepts, reference images, mood boards, and material palettes to communicate design intent.
• Develop drawing and specification packages, and produce documentation as needed in schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
• Coordinate with design team to produce plans, elevations, and details in order to ensure design intent is incorporated into documentation packages.
• Create and manage furniture plans, elevations, and details in AutoCAD.
• Assist with FF&E procurement, scheduling, and tracking.
• Participate in project coordination, construction administration, site visits, and maintain quality control during construction as needed.
• Collaborate seamlessly with clients, as well as other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing vendors and fabricators and explore opportunities for new partnerships with makers, designers, dealers, galleries, and distributors.
