Job summary

Progressive, a major Omaha utility company, is seeking multiple designers to support ongoing and future construction projects. The roles involve analyzing scope, selecting materials, and producing detailed electrical or mechanical design drawings, with field visits and collaboration across the project team.

Candidates will review and revise drawings for accuracy, provide guidance to junior designers, and report progress to the project manager, contributing to process improvements and project

Qualifications

  • Analyze project scope and engineering design criteria to determine manpower requirements.
  • Select materials and prepare material lists per standards and engineers' direction.
  • Prepare detailed electrical or mechanical design drawings in accordance with standards.
  • Review project drawings for accuracy, completeness, content and compliance.
  • Revise drawings in accordance with checking feedback and other requirements.
  • Provide assignments, guidance and instruction to less experienced designers as required.
  • Participate in design conferences and field trips concerning projects.
  • Report status of designs to project manager and make manpower recommendations.
  • Participate in task forces and training to streamline processes.

  • Revises drawings in accordance with checking feedback and other requirements
  • Provides assignments, guidance and instruction to less experienced designers as required
  • Participates in design conferences and makes field trips concerning projects
  • Reports status of designs to project manager and makes recommendations relative to manpower requirements
  • Participates in task forces, conference and training sessions to streamline or re-engineer internal/external processes as required
