Job summary

ELAN is seeking a Technical Designer to build and maintain specs and fit from concept to final approval for women's categories. This role ensures fit consistency and brand standards across constructions, with a strong emphasis on technical problems, process management, and leadership.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BFA in Fashion and 5-6 years of women's design experience, with expertise in wovens, knits, and sweater fit, plus proficiency in Excel, Illustrator, and PLM.

Qualifications

• BA/BFA in Fashion or related field.
• 5-6 years in women's Design, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong experience in garment fitting across categories.
• Expertise in wovens, cut-and-sew knits, and sweater fit.
• Ability to analyze fit issues and deliver actionable solutions.
• Skilled in technical specs, patternmaking, grading, and construction.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end product development.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in Excel, Illustrator, and PLM.
• Ability to supervise and train.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the design team to align on aesthetic, fit, and construction.
• Maintain fit consistency across categories.
• Manage 40-50 styles per season from development to production.
• Develop specs and construction methods; support cost engineering.
• Lead fit sessions to refine silhouette and proportion.
• Resolve technical issues across fit, construction, and production.
• Evaluate all samples for fit, quality, and accuracy.
• Communicate revisions clearly to overseas vendors.
• Partner with QC to address production issues.

We’re looking for a Technical Designer to build and maintain the specs and fit of the garment from initial design concept through to final fit approval for the women's categories. This role is responsible to ensure fit consistency and Brand standards for construction throughout the given category are maintained. This position requires a high level of technical, process management, and problem-solving skills.
