Job summary

Mueller Environmental Designs in Brookshire, TX is seeking a Designer/Drafter to create fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, structural steel, piping, and P&ID’s using Inventor and AutoCAD. You will mentor other drafters and ensure drawings are checked and accurate before customer approval and fabrication.

The ideal candidate has experience with ASME standards, can manage multiple projects, and collaborates with the shop and customers to meet timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and extended education in drafting design and 3D software a plus.
• Proficient in Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk illogic and Vault.
• Skilled at developing complete sets of complex designs including structural, mechanical, ASME coded vessels, and piping.
• Able to review customer specifications and ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII DIV.1, AISC, SID, OSHA.
• Experience supporting fabrication shop with accurate details and BOM for constructability.
• Create conceptual designs through final design with welding symbol knowledge and code vessel drawings.
• Read/write English and communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The primary role of a Designer/Drafter is to create fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, structural steel, piping, and P&ID’s using Inventor and AutoCAD software. Serve as a mentor for other drafters and be responsible for the checking and accuracy of drawings produced for approval to the customer and fabrication shop.
