Job summary

Welch Packaging is seeking a structural CAD drafter to create box samples that support Sales promotions. You will discuss projects with Sales Reps, select designs to draft, and produce samples on CAD tables or by hand.

The role requires 3–5 years in corrugated and familiarity with Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, and Windows/Microsoft Office. You will ensure accurate specifications, maintain records, and meet project deadlines in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in CAD, drafting, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years experience in corrugated packaging preferred.
  • Experience with ArtiosCAD, Kongsberg table, and Windows/Microsoft Office.

Structural

SUMMARY

Responsible for creating structural box samples to assist Sales Representatives in sales promotions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Discuss design projects with Sales Representatives and be able to select the appropriate designs needed and draw designs.
  • Make samples on CAD table or cut samples by hand.
  • Record keeping and filing of specifications.
  • Meet time schedules on projects with possible overtime involved.
  • Make production specifications from prototype.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associates degree or higher in the field of computers, CAD, or drafting. Will consider years of experience in lieu of a degree

Experience

  • 3-5-years' experience in corrugated preferred
  • Knowledge of Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
