Job summary

Qualifications

• AutoCAD or other CAD/drafting experience preferred.
• Experience with mechanical design, MEP, construction, architecture, drafting, or engineering technology is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good understanding of 2D/3D layouts and spatial relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of wet and dry fire sprinkler systems.
• Create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using CAD/design software.
• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and conceptual layouts.
• Assist with field surveys, material takeoffs, system calculations, and equipment selection.
• Review plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Assist with estimates, project planning, and design changes.
• Coordinate with project managers, lead designers, field personnel, and customers.
• Prepare specifications, O&M documentation, and organized project files.
• Learn and apply applicable fire protection codes and standards.
