The Designer will support project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents under supervision. The role requires a graduate in architecture or design and 6+ years of workplace design experience, including repositioning and adaptive reuse, with strong skills in space planning, Revit, and technical detailing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop interior and exterior repositioning concepts with the team.
• Create design ideas and production drawings for presentations and construction.
• Draft technical drawings.
• For smaller projects may oversee all design and drawing.
• Review engineering and landscape drawings to ensure alignment with the design solution.
• Select fixtures and finishes in collaboration with Senior Designer.
• Develop and deliver overall design and furniture packages.

We are presently searching for a Designer for our Austin studio. The Designer, working under general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Works with team to develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and/ or adaptive projects
• Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings
• Drafts technical drawings
• For smaller projects may oversee all design and drawing
• Provide review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure they comply with design solution.
• With Senior Designer, researches and selects fixtures and finishes to use for projects
• Ensures integration into overall design
• Preliminary concept plans for larger projects
• May develop and finalize conceptual design for smaller projects
• Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackles more complicated issues
• Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects
• Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior
• Assists in developing packages for larger projects
• Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates
• Manages design budget for assigned projects
• May mentor the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers

Qualifications:

• Graduate of architecture or design school: equivalent experience may be substituted
• 6+ years’ experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive re-use projects as well as corporate interiors
