Job summary

IA Interior Architects seeks an Intermediate Designer for the Austin, TX Studio to support design development and contract documents. You will work with Junior Designers and under the supervision of senior staff on project administration and development tasks.

The role requires a design education and 3+ years in corporate interiors, with strong Revit and Adobe Creative Suite capabilities to produce quality drawings and presentations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• 3+ years’ experience in corporate interior design projects.
• Intermediate sketching and rendering skills and familiarity with interior detailing.

Responsibilities

• Space planning & test fits for interior projects.
• Assists senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes.
• Develops preliminary plans under supervision of senior designers or PM.
• Researches and collects details for cost estimates of furniture and finishes.

The Intermediate Designer, while working with Junior Designer and under the supervision of a more senior Designer or Project Manager, the Intermediate Designer provides design support primarily in project administration, design development and contract documents.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Space Planning & test fits
• Assists senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes
• At direction of senior designers, may provide suggested details for interior design projects
• Researches and collects details for furniture and finish cost estimates
• Develops preliminary plans
