Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Rancho Bernardo, CA seeks a Design Verification Engineer to join the Design Services Team. You will develop and apply verification strategies, check complex drawings and documentation, and ensure standards compliance across engineering disciplines.

Under general supervision, you will lead project segments, coordinate with design, quality, manufacturing and configuration management, and deliver technically sound results while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in engineering with 4+ years (or 2+ with Master's) of progressive experience.
• Strong understanding of ASME Y14.100-2017 and ASME Y14.5-2018 (GD&T).
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve engineering issues using standard principles.
• Verify drawings and documentation for fit, form, function; check schematics and assemblies.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and recommend changes to notes.
• Direct activities of designers, technicians, and junior staff.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing and configuration management.
• Document findings, track workload, and present technical results as required.
• Coordinate project segments and represent the organization on technical issues.
• Observe laws, regulations and safety procedures.
