Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer to develop detailed drawings and models for concrete pipe and precast products, translating project requirements into accurate designs. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients, ensuring designs meet standards and production needs while staying current with CAD software advancements.

Qualifications

• Must produce accurate technical drawings based on project requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple CAD tasks within deadlines.
• Familiarity with precast concrete design and production methods helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed CAD drawings and models for concrete pipe and precast products from project requirements.
• Interpret project plans, specs, and codes to produce accurate and functional designs.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify design needs and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing bills of materials and other technical documentation.
• Ensure all designs adhere to company standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Review and revise designs to incorporate feedback or changes as needed.
• Support production team with technical guidance during manufacturing.
• Maintain records of design files and project documentation.
• Stay updated on CAD software and industry trends.

What You'll Need

• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Working knowledge of ERP/inventory control software, preferably Titan.
• Understanding of precast concrete design, production methods, and industry standards.

Your Education

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, drafting, or a related field preferred.
