Job description

Our company is a leading producer of architectural and structural wall panels, and the nation's largest producer of precast concrete parking structures. We have supplied structure and enclosure systems, components, and accessories for a wide range of projects including corporate, cultural, government, educational, institutional, multi-unit residential buildings, sports stadiums and arenas, retail, industrial, correctional facilities, and warehouses.

Position Overview

The Design Team Leader is responsible for leading and facilitating a design team, coordinating engineering efforts on assigned projects, and ensuring schedule conformance, high-quality output, and customer satisfaction.

This is a Monday-Friday, first shift in-office position at our High Concrete Plant in Denver, PA.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Collaborate with project management to develop schedules and communicate with customers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  2. Manage and oversee a team of Engineers, Drafters, and Checkers, ensuring responsibilities are completed efficiently and effectively.
  3. Develop engineering schedules aligned with production timelines, ensuring quality and design conformance to contract documents.
  4. Ensure compliance with contractual design obligations and maintain a Submittal Schedule for timely engineering submittals and approvals.
  5. Oversee development of erection drawings, ensuring they are consistent with contract documents and optimized for manufacturing and erection.
  6. Monitor schedule conformance for all engineering outputs and coordinate with subcontractors as needed.
  7. Identify and quantify design scope changes in collaboration with project management.
  8. Assist in information gathering during the design phase, including handling RFIs.
  9. Manage design closeout functions, including final as-built drawings and documentation archiving.
  10. Perform additional duties as required within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in engineering design or precast construction.
  • Experience supervising team members preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
