Job summary

Whatnot in the United States is seeking a Design Systems Engineer to drive a unified UI across iOS, Android, and web. You’ll evolve our design tokens, ship scalable components, and partner with design and engineering to land consistent experiences.

You’ll own token pipelines from Figma to code, advocate for accessibility and theming, and help create tooling that streamlines collaboration. If you love systems thinking and shipping polished UI across platforms, join Whatnot.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
Shipped production UI on at least two platforms (iOS, Android, web).
Hands-on experience building or maintaining a design system with tokens and APIs.
Strong cross-functional collaboration with designers using Figma.
Accessibility, theming, RTL, testing (snapshot/visual), and documentation.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve design system components across iOS, Android, and web.
Own and extend design token architecture and automated pipelines from Figma to code.
Collaborate daily with product designers; review specs, API naming, and tooling.
Improve quality with accessibility, dark mode, internationalization, testing, and documentation.
