Job summary

RB Global is seeking a hands-on Staff Design System Lead to define strategy and advance our MUI/React design system. You will partner with front-end engineers, own intake and prioritization, and push beyond default Material Design to create a distinctly RB system.

You'll lead token architecture, component libraries, and documentation, ensuring accessibility is built in and the system scales across teams. This is a senior, cross-functional leadership role combining design and engineering

Qualifications

• 9+ years in product design or design systems leadership.
• Experience maturing design systems at product companies.
• Hands-on with MUI and React-based component libraries.
• Proven ability to translate feedback into scalable, usable systems.
• Strong collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Comfort with AI tools and building self-serve documentation with AI.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-year strategy and roadmap for RB Global design system.
• Own end-to-end system: foundations, components, tokens, docs.
• Collaborate with designers to evolve components based on real usage.
• Maintain, version, and sync Figma components with production code.
• Extend MUI components to create a distinct RB look beyond Material Design.
• Define token structure for theming and long-term consistency.
• Elevate visual polish, motion, and system documentation.
• Partner with engineering on architecture, implementation, and releases.
• Manage intake and prioritization of design system requests.
