Job summary

Shift4 in Tampa is seeking a Design System Lead to own the design system end-to-end across web, mobile, and POS, unifying token architecture, theming, accessibility, and cross-platform patterns. You will collaborate with Product and Engineering to bridge design and code using AI-assisted tooling and practical governance.

You will mentor designers, migrate legacy interfaces, and drive design-to-code workflows from Figma to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Product Design, Design Systems, or UX Engineering.
• Proven track record building and evolving production-ready design systems.
• Deep expertise in token architecture, theming, and cross-platform design.
• Strong Figma skills and design-to-code governance knowledge.
• Hands-on with React, ShadCN, Tailwind CSS; Kotlin/Jetpack Compose is a plus.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate design system work.

Responsibilities

• Assess and unify design systems across web, mobile, and POS.
• Own token architecture, component libraries, theming, and accessibility.
• Lead migration of legacy interfaces to the shared design system.
• Drive design-to-code workflows between Figma and production.
• Partner with engineers to implement system foundations in code.
• Mentor designers on system thinking and AI-enabled workflows.
