Kay-Twelve seeks a Design Solutions Manager who leads Kay-Twelve's design production end-to-end, translating Collaborate vision into buildable interiors. You will set gross profit targets, guide production staff, and ensure regulatory compliance while partnering with procurement to source specified items.

You will present design proposals to clients, maintain strong communication with the PM, and manage budget and schedule within a remote work setup with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Professional licensure or certification (e.g., licensed Interior Architect, NCIDQ, or equivalent).
• Five+ years of interior design experience, preferably in K-12/educational facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or CET, and Microsoft Suite.
• Familiarity with local building codes, ADA, life safety, fire, and electrical regulations.
• Knowledge of 100+ furniture manufacturers and current K-12 product trends.
• Ability to sit, stand, and use hands for extended periods; travel to client sites as needed.

Responsabilités

• Lead production work translating Collaborate-stage vision into design intent and supplier decisions.
• Develop design solutions, 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture specs for client presentations.
• Ensure alignment between educational outcomes and physical environments.
• Apply ADA, life safety, fire, and electrical codes to designs.
• Direct the Design Production Specialist's day-to-day output for accuracy and integrity.
• Confirm manufacturer fit balancing design, lead times, and cost.
• Set gross profit percentages and monitor budgets.
• Collaborate with procurement/vendors for accurate sourcing.
• Approve substitutions while protecting design and budget.
• Receive handoff briefings and translate into production direction.
• Prepare design proposals and sample selections with PM as client contact.
• Flag risks early while preserving decision authority.
