Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking a Sales Assistant to support daily store operations, assist customers, and contribute to visual merchandising. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in sales support and customer service within a design-focused environment.

You will report to the Assistant Manager and gain exposure to product knowledge, client interactions, and teamwork. Prior retail experience is a plus, and training will cover systems like Salesforce and design software.

Qualifications

• Interest in design, retail, or customer service.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and navigating websites.
• Willingness to learn systems like Salesforce and design software (we’ll train you!).
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs and move items as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up.
• Help maintain the store’s visual presentation and product displays.
• Assist with inventory of marketing materials, swatches, and office supplies.
• Learn about our products and design principles through training and team meetings.
• Communicate with clients via phone and email to provide helpful, friendly service.
