UNOPS is seeking a Design Review Engineer to provide independent technical assurance for hydraulic works and irrigation structures in challenging environments. The role emphasizes review of models, calculations, and drawings to ensure safety, practicality, and alignment with project goals.

The assignment requires experience in design review, site information checks, and coordination with IPMG. Travel may be required to Afghanistan or neighboring regions to support project delivery.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering with professional experience in hydraulic works or similar.
• Minimum three years of direct design experience in hydraulic or irrigation structures.
• Experience reviewing design drawings, calculations, and BOQs with attention to safety and compliance.
• Professional registration or membership is desirable where applicable.

Mansioni

• Review site-specific designs to ensure compliance with approved model designs and IPMG standards.
• Check calculations, load cases, dimensions and material parameters for safety and constructability.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve design quality and ensure suitability for Afghan conditions.
• Coordinate comments and closure with IPMG focal point and project teams.
• Attend technical meetings and conduct site verification when required and feasible.
