Job summary

Versigent in Troy, MI is seeking a Design Release Engineer to drive design and release of vehicle Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS). You will collaborate with Aptiv teams, ensure compliance with customer requirements, and support onsite vehicle builds.

The role emphasizes risk management, design for manufacturing, continuous improvement, and clear communication in a remote environment via Webex/MS Teams; on-site presence in Troy is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design/development of vehicle Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) wiring.
• Component release experience or strong wiring design experience is required.
• Ability to communicate in a remote work environment using Webex/MS Teams; remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and release engineering for vehicle Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS).
• Analyze needs and product requirements to create a design.
• Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements and manage risk.

Your Role:

As a Design Release Engineering our team, you’ll

• Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn continuously.

• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently.

• Ability to communicate in a remote work environment utilizing Webex/MS Teams for meetings, communicate effectively with team members by e-mail, etc.

• Ability to plan around timelines and complete work deliverables on time.

• Ability to work in a customer environment and represent us as a supplier to Ford.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Must be task oriented, detail oriented and accurate.

Your Background:

• 2+ years of design/development of vehicle Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) wiring.

• Component release experience or strong wiring design experience is required.

• Analyze needs and product requirements to create a design.

• Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

• Risk Management. Identify, mitigate, and elevate risk as required to complete objectives.

• Problem solving. Identifying design problems and reviewing all information to develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.

• DFM. Drive closure to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and product development issues with the customer.

• Continuous Improvement. Work with customer to accomplish continuous improvement targets such as warranty and cost reduction.

• Ensure Bill of Design (BOD) and Bill of Process (BOP) compliance.

• Manage relationship with engineering customer and be decisive interface for design and development of EDS wiring.

• Work with Aptiv team members to establish cost/timing for changes and act as point of contact internally and with customer to report these back through customer change control meetings.

• Consider cost and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate.

• Provide onsite vehicle build support as required

• High voltage experience is a plus

• Local residents only, with the ability to work onsite in Troy, MI

• Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
