Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) in Auburn Hills, MI. This contract role concentrates on developing robust PIMs, DVP&R, and verification processes to meet program goals and customer requirements.

You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive design verification and manufacturing readiness on a 12+ month contract, with pay $30–$38 per hour on W2, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• BS degree required with engineering focus.
• Experience in PIM design verification and DVP&R.
• Ability to read schematics and perform Worst Case analyses.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and Validation Plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs to develop cost-effective PIMs using advanced tech and test equipment.
• Develop DVP&R and verification testing to meet objectives and program goals.
• Create component specifications from vehicle, system, and software requirements.
• Participate in supplier assessments with technical SMEs.
• Work with suppliers to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
• Lead post-test reviews and recommend changes to specifications.
• Track component development, verification, and production progress.
• Assist with issue resolution and status reporting at multiple levels.
• Report progress at team meetings and program reviews.

Pay Range: $30/hr. to $38/hr. on W2. (The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Job Type: 12+ Months Contract

Job Description:

The DRE shall perform the following activities:

• Work with technical subject matter experts to develop cost effective and reliable PIMs using cutting edge technologies, simulation tools, and test and evaluation equipment
• Develop PIM DVP&R and all required development/verification testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals
• Support creating Component Specifications from vehicle, system and software requirements including requirements for Durability, Warranty, Safety and Performance at component level
• Participate in supplier assessments working closely with technical subject matter experts
• Work with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufacturable without defect
• Participate in post-test inspection reviews including detailed failure analysis, and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary
• Track progress of component development, verification, and production both internally and externally
• Assist Issue Resolution and tracking at Technical, Program, Production and Financial levels
• Assist reporting progress and status of component development at various team level meetings

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or equivalent Engineering Degree
• Awareness of Power Electronics, Simulation Tools, and Motor Control Software Methodologies
• Ability to read/interpret Circuit Schematics, Worst Case analysis, layout drawings
• Knowledgeable in development of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Validation Plans
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Highly motivated and self-starter
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities, one's own time while being mindful of deadlines
• Must be task oriented, detail oriented, and accurate with work
