Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate contract opportunity for a Design Release Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI.

This is a 12+ months contract with long-term potential and is onsite at the production plant and engineering office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or related degree field.
• Self-starter with strong leadership, communication & organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Experience in Formula SAE, Baja, or similar college experience.
• Master of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and/or Urea.
• Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
• Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
• Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) preferred belt certification.
• Solid understanding of system/component design.
• NX, TeamCenter and PLM/EBOM familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all program milestone requirements on time and with quality.
• Manage design changes to components and resolve functional, durability, assembly issues as required.
• Utilize engineering tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, application & adherence of specifications & best practices.
• Lead technical design reviews for components at key program milestones and at management reviews.
• Review validation setup at internal location or supplier, ensuring testing is performed to specification, review test results for accuracy and compliance requirements and report results to management.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure robust design of fuel components through program milestones & launch.
• Be on site at production plant & engineering office to support builds and issue resolution.
• Ensure quality post program launch by supporting warranty reviews.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Design Release Engineer. This is a 12+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite).

Pay Range: $31 - $32/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver all program milestone requirements on time and with quality
• Manage design changes to components and resolve functional, durability, assembly issues as required
• Utilize engineering tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, application & adherence of specifications & best practices

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or related degree field.
• Self-starter with strong leadership, communication & organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Experience in the following areas would be beneficial: Formula SAE, Baja, or similar experience in college.
• Master of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 5 or more years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and/or UREA, will consider an internship with Fuel/Urea Systems as part of that experience as well as Plant Quality/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
• Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
• Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) preferred Belt certification.
• Solid understanding of system/component design.
• General understanding of NX, TeamCenter and Bill of Material Management (EBOM/Codep/PLM/Other).
