Insight Global is seeking a Design Project Manager to lead end-to-end design and engineering efforts for infrastructure and construction projects, primarily in the Los Angeles area.
This role requires 5–7 years of experience in complex design projects with a heavy MEP focus, strong PM and cross-functional leadership, and BIM proficiency. Travel 25–33% is expected; PE license preferred. Salary is hourly: $72–$80.
A large automotive client is seeking a Design Project Manager to lead end-to-end design and engineering efforts for infrastructure and construction projects across the U.S. (primarily LA area). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and can drive complex projects from concept through construction.
Lead full project lifecycle: concept -> design -> construction -> closeout
Manage and coordinate design deliverables (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC, etc.)
Design and optimize complex systems (MEP-inclusive) for efficiency and scalability
Conduct feasibility studies & due diligence (utilities, site surveys, codes, capacity)
Partner cross-functionally with teams including Construction, Facilities, IT, EHS, and Estimating
Translate stakeholder needs into clear project scopes, schedules, and deliverables
Define project delivery strategies and permit/construction documentation
Drive innovative, high-quality design execution under aggressive timelines
Manage consultants/vendors (RFPs, onboarding, performance oversight)
Support BIM-driven design coordination and lean construction practices
Pay Range for this role is $72 - $80 per hour depending on years of experience and education.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural Engineering (or similar)
5-7 years managing complex design projects (heavy MEP focus)
Experience with R&D facilities, workplace, or infrastructure projects
Strong project management & cross-functional leadership experience
Familiarity with BIM tools (Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
Willingness to travel 25-33% - PE license preferred (CA, TX, CO, NV)
