Job summary

Northwest Pipe Company seeks a Design Product Engineer (EIT) to provide structural designs for vaults, pipes, box culverts and other precast products. You will analyze civil plans, prepare CAD drawings, review BOMs, and support cost-saving design projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering, drafting, sales, manufacturing, and quality teams, while applying ACI 318 and AASHTO LRFD design knowledge and utilizing AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MathCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• E.I.T certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Concrete Design coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural designs for a full range of precast products (vaults, pipe, box culverts, catch basins, manholes, wingwalls) under supervision.
• Analyze civil plans and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Prepare and review project CAD drawings and BOMs.
• Support production with cost-saving design initiatives and process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, drafting, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality teams on design questions.
• Engage with precast industry associations and public utility projects.
