Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer I to support project leadership during the design phase, focusing on stormwater issues and plans. You will help ensure customer experience, financial performance, scheduling, estimating, and planning for a smooth transition to construction operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining project budgets and schedules, aiding bid package preparation, and supporting regulatory approvals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of two years' relevant experience.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, and web applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 100%.

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer I that will provide support to project leadership during the design phase as it relates to customer experience, financial performance, scheduling, estimating, design and planning resulting in a smooth transition to construction operations. This role will focus on stormwater issues and plans.

Responsibilities

Support the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, an integrated team experience, construction readiness, and excellent financial performance

Assist with establishing and managing project budget and scope expectations, budget trending logs, and any associated communications and resources

Create and manage project schedules and key milestones, hold team members accountable for reaching set milestones

Assist in regulatory approval and permitting process

Assist in the preparation of bid packages and contract manuals

Support bid analysis and subcontractor selection

Identify technical design and specification concerns, escalate as needed to achieve resolution

  • Participate in and contribute to project planning and environmental risk analysis
  • Evaluate and offer solutions for environmental risks
  • Maintain operational knowledge of environmental issues in construction, US EPA, ASTM, and other
  • applicable standards, regulations, laws, and procedures
  • Serve as resource for environmental issues or concern
Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field

Minimum of two year\'s relevant experience

Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills

Ability to travel up to 100%

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with stormwater issues and plans is highly desired

Adoption Assistance

The base pay range for this role is $84,100 - $113,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual\'s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson\'s incentive plan.
