Job summary

Scarlett Gasque, a luxury women’s ready-to-wear brand based in New York, seeks an experienced Design Operations leader to streamline workflows across design, production and product development.

You will own calendars, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage design assets and documentation, and partner with domestic and international manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery and scalable processes.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in Design Operations, Production, Product Development, or Operations.
  • Strong understanding of luxury fashion product development from concept through production.
  • Experience building and improving operational processes within a growing brand.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple seasonal calendars simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with cross-functional experience.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize workflows across Design, Production, and Product Development teams to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Establish seasonal calendars, milestones, and critical paths from concept through production.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align design priorities with business objectives.
  • Identify process improvements and implement scalable operational solutions as the company grows.
  • Own and maintain the design calendar, ensuring all deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Monitor collection progress and proactively address risks and/or delays.
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings and communicate priorities, deadlines, and action items.
  • Ensure all teams remain aligned throughout each stage of product development.
  • Facilitate communication across departments to ensure seamless execution of seasonal collections.
  • Partner with production and sourcing teams to support smooth transitions from development into manufacturing.
  • Oversee sample tracking, prototype management, and design asset organization.
  • Develop standardized processes for sketches, tech packs, fabric approvals, trims, and sample reviews.
  • Manage design documentation and digital file organization.
  • Ensure design resources and materials are readily accessible to the team.
  • Coordinate with domestic and international factories, mills, and vendors throughout development.
  • Assist in resolving development challenges related to materials, timelines, or manufacturing constraints.
  • Maintain accurate product information and development records within company systems.
  • Develop reporting on seasonal progress, development costs, and key milestones.
  • Mentor and support members of the Design, Production, and Product Development teams.
  • Establish clear processes, expectations, and accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative, solution-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership

Requirements

Pay Transparency Notice:

Depending on your skills and experience, the target annual salary for this position can range from $80,000-$105,000 USD. Disclosure in accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law.
