Job summary

Olympic West Fire Protection LLC is seeking a Design Manager to lead a team of design engineers, develop SOPs, and champion standardization across locations. The role requires collaboration with Sales, Project Managers, and owners to meet design requirements and schedules.

You will mentor designers, oversee staffing and turnover meetings, and drive improvements through a Best Practice committee. Strong leadership and technical skills in fire protection design are essential.

Qualifications

• Design experience within the fire sprinkler industry.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership/management experience.
• Associate degree in Fire Protection Design preferred and/or 5 years in design/engineering.
• NICET certification preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and HydraCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret codes, standards, drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Sales and Project Managers to verify schedule and design requirements.
• Schedule design based on job requirements and ensure plans are received.
• Lead and mentor a team of designers; provide professional support.
• Chair Best Practice committee and implement improvements.
• Monitor design costs and ensure on-time commitments.
• Assist with recruitment and interviewing of design candidates.
• Participate in turnover and design meetings.
