Job summary

Talanto is seeking a seasoned Data Center Design Manager to lead multi-discipline projects from due diligence through construction documents, ensuring on-time delivery and client satisfaction. The role demands a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering and experience directing design teams across architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICT disciplines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Function

The qualified candidate will overseehyper-scale data center projectsfrom site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience managing the design of colocation and hyper-scale data centers, has a background in electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, andpossessesexceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead data center due diligence and design teams to deliver projects that meet the client’s requirements, on schedule and to a high degree of quality. Design disciplines will include architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS.
  • Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans.
  • Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage and communicate change throughout the project
  • Identifyproblems early and develop creative solutions.
  • Proactively communicate with all stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design projects
  • Develop trusting relationships with client stakeholders/buyers

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experiencewith data center design management & engineering
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

Base Pay - $140,000-$180,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
