Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a Design Manager-oriented professional in Murrieta, CA to support a design-build team through programming, reviews, and constructability insights. This role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and ensuring design quality within budget and schedule constraints.

You will assist with design reviews, value engineering, and coordinating with A/E partners across project phases, including site visits and construction support.

Qualifications

• Architecture or related design major is required.
• General construction management exposure via coursework is recommended.
• Experience with BIM/design tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Design Manager with group- and project-specific tasks.
• Support proposal development with narratives, visuals, and graphics.
• Attend presentation preparations and develop presentation skills.
• Assist the A/E through programming, code reviews, and constructability.
• Assist with determining functionality and quality of the A/E team’s solution.
• Assist with design reviews and design decisions tracking.
• Help with value engineering ideas and follow-up with WT, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Attend construction meetings and site walks with the design team.
• Support design-related issues during construction and ensure close-out commitments.
• Maintain WT Design Management tools and resources and assist with design team networking.
