Job summary

GQ Interim is seeking a Design Leader for plastic components in the automotive sector, especially for clients like Porsche. The role involves leading design activities, ensuring quality standards, and managing CAD engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design activities for plastic components.

• Conduct style surface, gap & flush, and stack-up analyses.
• Validate supplier designs and coordinate technical data flow.
• Lead design reviews and ensure CAD database integrity.
• Participate in tool trials and final tuning adjustments.
• Communicate with customer engineering teams.

• ensure all parts meet customer quality, functionality, and manufacturing requirements while adhering to timing and cost targets;
• drive the design tuning of physical parts for serial production, ensuring compliance with customer (Porsche) standards;
• manage and guide CAD engineers in creating and updating 3D and 2D data;
• conduct style surface, gap & flush, and stack-up analyses;
• validate supplier designs (Tier 2) and coordinate technical data flow;
• lead design reviews, monitor action plans, and ensure CAD database integrity;
• participate in tool trials, cubing events, and final tuning adjustments;
• communicate directly with customer engineering teams to validate design decisions;
• proven track record as Design Leader or Senior CAD Engineer in the automotive plastics field, ideally with Porsche, Audi, or BMW;
• expertise in CATIA V5/V6 (own license advantage);
• strong understanding of plastic design rules, isostatism, and tolerance stack-up;
• experience with serial production tuning and geometry validation.
