Job summary

FITS LLC seeks an experienced design lead for pharmaceutical and large-scale facility projects in Puerto Rico. You will guide engineering design standards, regulatory alignment, and overall design delivery for capital projects within GMP contexts.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in engineering/related field, 8+ years of experience, bilingual (English/Spanish), with EIT/PE license preferred. You will coordinate with A/E firms and drive scheduling, design reviews, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Supply Chain with 8+ years in pharma/large-scale facility design.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Experience in GMP or regulated pharma/biotech environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead in identifying applicable Engineering Design Standards, Functional Standards, Specifications and Regulatory requirements.
• Oversee overall design delivery for capital projects.
• Coordinate all design phases with the Project Manager and deliver conceptual and basic design reviews.
• Direct development of design requirements.
• Assist in development and maintenance of the design schedule.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Supply Chain and (8+)years ofexperience within the pharmaceutical, large-scale facility design, warehouse or logistics facility design.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish).
• EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
• Shift: Administrativeand according to business needs.
• Experience in:
  • Large capital projects (EPCM / Design-Build environments
  • Experience in GMP or regulated environments (pharma/biotech).

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)

• Lead in the identification of the applicable EngineeringDesignStandards, Engineering Functional Standards, Engineering Specifications and Regulatory requirements and guidance (both internal and external).
• Be responsible for the overalldesigndelivery for capital project(s).
• Coordinate alldesignfor the Project Manager during alldesignphases of the project and be responsible in delivering the conceptualdesignreview and basicdesignreview.
• Direct the development of thedesignrequirements.
• Assist in development and maintenance of thedesignschedule to meet the project needs.
• Participate in the selection of the A/E firms.
• Coordinate with A/E firms to develop earned value progress systems to measure progress by discipline (monitor work versus invoice amounts).
• Expeditedesigndecisions and coordinate information flow between thedesignteam and system owners.
• Be responsible for ensuring thedesignmeets approved intent through interactions between thedesignfirm,designspecialists, engineering tech center disciplines, and end user/customer.
• Be responsible fordesignactivities and governance, resolvingdesign-related problems.
• Examine areas of inefficiency and develop strategies for improvement to direct thedesignteam to meet or improve on thedesignhours plan.
