Job summary

HDR is seeking a Design Intern to gain real-world experience on exciting architectural projects. You will work under supervision of an Architect or Project Manager and engage in design development from concept through construction drawings.

You will participate in the architectural design process, communicate concepts with clients, and collaborate with production staff. A portfolio or coursework demonstrating design skills is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • 2 years completed toward degree with minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of an Architect, Project Manager, or other professionals
  • Participate in the architectural design process, and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to client or for agency approval
  • Follow through on design development drawings and models, and collaborate with production staff for technical details and completion of construction drawings
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
