Job summary

HDR invites an Architectural Design Intern to gain real-world experience on exciting projects in a collaborative, employee-owned environment. You will work under the supervision of licensed professionals, participate in the design process, and help develop presentation graphics and construction drawings.

The role emphasizes 3D modeling in REVIT and Rhino, with opportunities to connect with mentors and advance skills in digital design and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA preferred.
  • Advanced REVIT skills preferred.
  • Rhino and 3D modeling skills preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments under the supervision of an Architect, Project Manager, or other professionals.
  • Participate in the architectural design process and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics.
  • Follow through on design development drawings and models and collaborate with production staff for technical details.
  • Advance 3D digital models for projects in REVIT and RHINO.
  • Complete code reviews under direction of an Architect.

Architectural Design Intern:

  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of an Architect, Project Manager, or other professionals
  • Participate in the architectural design process, and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to client or for agency approval
  • Follow through on design development drawings and models, and collaborate with production staff for technical details and completion of construction drawings
  • Complete code reviews under direction of an Architect
  • Advance 3D digital models for projects in REVIT and RHINO
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Advanced REVIT skills preferred
  • Rhino and 3 Dimension modeling skills preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
