Job summary

MTU Aero Engines North America is seeking a Design Integration Engineer II in Rocky Hill, CT. You will oversee interface definitions for HPC/LPT components in the Geared Turbofan program and coordinate engineering changes across teams, ensuring product integrity across design, testing and production phases.

You will collaborate with MTU Munich and Pratt & Whitney to optimize designs, manage data with Teamcenter, and drive issues to closure while seeking opportunities for process improvements and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 4-10 years of related engineering experience (compressor or turbine design desirable).
  • Sound understanding of concepts, methods and procedures within discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Working knowledge of Unigraphics and Teamcenter (desirable).
  • Knowledge of CIPT team methods and processes (desirable).
  • Eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.
  • Occasional international travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and closure of mechanical and functional interface documents during the design, testing, certification and production phases (CICR’s).
  • Coordinate engineering changes (ECs) and execute workflow/review process for all MTU owned ECs.
  • Support design optimization and design review preparation.
  • Support the module development, involve individual component teams in Munich, Germany, and Pratt & Whitney’s Configuration Control Board, which is a multi-disciplined team ensuring product integrity.
  • Support configuration management & the HPC/LPT CIPT; utilize Pratt & Whitney’s configuration management tool (Teamcenter) to manage relevant technical data.
  • Work with Pratt & Whitney and MTU Munich colleagues on a regular basis; utilize cultural intelligence to further strengthen the P&W/MTU partnership.
  • Understand capabilities of the organization and try to identify additional custom needs that can be filled by the organization; bring opportunities to Group Lead or Manager.
