Job summary

TrustLayer is hiring a Technical Product Manager & Designer to shape customer experience end-to-end, owning UX from research to high-fidelity UI. You’ll balance design with technical product judgment and work closely with engineers on APIs and data models.

You’ll lead user research, define specs with clear acceptance criteria, and collaborate with Customer Success and Sales to validate solutions. Strong emphasis on accessibility and plain language.

Qualifications

• 5+ years combined experience in product design and product management, with at least 3 years designing complex web applications.
• Strong interaction and visual design fundamentals: information hierarchy, data-heavy tables and forms, responsive layouts.
• Clear, concise writing — specs, design rationale and updates people actually read.
• Experience working with engineers on a distributed team, from scoping through release.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end UX for core workflows: setting insurance requirements, reviewing certificates, resolving deficiencies and the vendor upload portal.
• Run user research: customer interviews, usability tests and reviews of how people actually use the product.
• Turn findings into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and polished, developer‑ready UI in Figma.
• Build and maintain TrustLayer’s design system — components, patterns and guidelines — so the product looks and works consistently.
• Design clear, trustworthy experiences for AI-assisted features, such as showing how a certificate was read and what needs a human check.
• Make accessibility and plain language standard in everything we ship.
• Review builds with engineers and sweat the details until the shipped product matches the intent.
• Own the roadmap for your product areas and write clear specs with user stories, acceptance criteria and edge cases.
• Partner with engineering leadership on scope, sequencing and technical trade-offs, including API and data model decisions.
• Work with Customer Success and Sales to find the problems worth solving and validate solutions early.
• Define success metrics for each release and use product data (SQL, analytics tools) to measure results.
• Coordinate launches with release notes, demos and enablement for customer-facing teams.
